Last week, the UK Green Business Awards took place at The Brewery in London. Hosted by BusinessGreen, the ceremony was a fantastic celebration of sustainability and innovation across thirty categories.
RSK Biocensus were delighted to have been shortlisted as a finalist for the ‘Consultancy of the Year’ award. We were also really interested in the outcome of the ‘Behaviour Change Campaign of the Year’ award, as one of the finalists was the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (CIEEM)’s Green Jobs for Nature initiative, of which we are proud supporters.
Braving the scorching heatwave in London on behalf of RSK Biocensus was Thomas Webb, Senior Ecological Consultant, alongside Associate Directors Kim Olliver and Tim Graham. Before the ceremony began, the team had the chance to enjoy a wonderful meal while networking with other attendees at the event, including Ellie Strudwick and Adam Fryer from fellow RSK Group team Fishtek, who were there in support of Ellie in the ‘Rising Star of the Year’ category.
So to the awards – where unfortunately we were not the winners in our category: Buro Happold, were worthy winners of the ‘Consultancy of the Year’ award. This did not dampen the spirits of our team who continued to enjoy the night, celebrating the nomination and just happy to have been able to navigate the extremes of the heat to get there.
We then moved onto the ‘Behaviour Change Campaign of the Year’ and ‘Rising Star of the Year’ categories, which were won by ITV and Kripa Balachandran (Mission Zero Technologies) respectively. Again, worthy winners both and congratulations to them from everyone at RSK Biocensus. Although obviously we were disappointed that CIEEM and Ellie were not able to come out victorious, it was still fantastic that they were recognised as finalists.
Congratulations to the winners of all the categories, there is some amazing work happening out there and everyone concerned thoroughly deserved their recognition. Despite the sweltering heat, the team had a great time at the event, and we hope to be back next year!
