This month, we had the pleasure of hosting George Wilkinson for our First Thursday Club webinar, where he discussed the fascinating subject of Birds: Surveys, Impacts, and Mitigation. As a Senior Ecologist at RSK Biocensus, George provided an in-depth look at ornithology related to development, covering essential legislation, survey techniques, potential impacts, mitigation strategies, and ways to support bird populations.
He also shared exciting updates in the field, including new Bird Survey Guidelines and innovative survey methods, as well as insights into how various developments influence bird behaviour. With over 15 years of experience in the UK and abroad, George, who chairs RSK Biocensus’s Ornithology Technical Excellence Group, offered a wealth of knowledge.
