The Helsby office is in north Cheshire, conveniently located close to the M56, between Chester, Liverpool and Manchester, in a rural location close to Delamere Forest and the Sandstone Trail.

The Helsby RSK Biocensus team regularly holds socials, pub visits and walks in conjunction with the Leeds-based team.

RSK Biocensus staff based in Helsby have a broad range of experience and expertise (one assistant ecologist, three consultant ecologists, one senior consultant ecologist, two senior aquatic consultants, an associate director and the RSK Biocensus managing director), and there are also staff based in Helsby from our sister company RSK Wilding and other RSK Group companies.

Our staff deliver a complete range of ecological services, including protected species and habitats surveys, ecological impact assessments, mitigation and licensing. Our staff regularly deliver training, and we have staff with great crested newt low impact class licences and Natural England earned recognition bat licences. We work with our RSK Biocensus colleagues nationally and collaborate on projects with sister companies within RSK Group, such as RSK Environment, RSK Geosciences and RSK Habitat Management.

We are currently working on a range of exciting projects in the following key areas: renewable energy projects (particularly carbon capture, battery energy storage and solar); habitat regeneration and restoration (long-term quarry restoration in Cumbria); residential/commercial development (in particular, NHS facilities in Greater Manchester); and biodiversity net gain projects across north-west England.
